"I wanted to record this review using Whisper itself because it’s one of the few dictation apps that actually works. Most dictation apps have weird quirks, don’t get updated, or fail in small but frustrating ways. This app is worth the money because the developer keeps putting real effort into it. The changes are not always huge, but the app keeps moving forward with new models, new features, and steady improvements. Most importantly, it works reliably. When everything else fails, this works. That’s amazing, and I highly recommend it. It’s worth the investment. I do have one feature request: I’d love to see light LLM processing beyond summaries. For example, cleanup grammar, remove repetitions, lightly rewrite while keeping the original style, or format the output as meeting notes, a text message, or a polished paragraph. Right now, I have to copy the text to the clipboard, paste it into ChatGPT, process it there, and then bring it back. That feels unnecessary. These common LLM cleanup and formatting features would make a lot of sense as part of this application."

"I love the Whisper Memos app. It has increased my productivity and my ability to track conversations and extract key elements of the meetings by coupling it with ChatGPT. I love how it automatically sends me my transcript when I stop recording. I simply cut and paste it into ChatGPT, and it gives me a summary of my call and captures any of my assigned tasks. There may be simpler solutions. But this is the most cost-effective and easiest."

It doesn’t bolt on unnecessary AI “second brain” type features - instead it focuses on easy, quick capture and output. The main feature here is the ability to quickly generate summaries. These outputs can (optionally) be emailed automatically, making this a fantastic quick capture tool."
